Prototype of this elite class of ships was the USS Bucket, after which the class was named.
The pride and flagship of the Federation, the USS WILDTHING is a BUCKET class starship. Commissioned by Starfleet at the Wolfsburg/Earth Fleet Yards (in orbit around Sol1) on June 11, 1976, this is the first vessel to bear the name.
Its ominous old-fashioned design belies its advanced technology, capable of speeds beyond imagination.
When damaged, the ship is capable of quickly regenerating itself.
The USS WILDTHING is approximately 12,41 feet long, weighs over one metric ton, and boasts a complement around 7 people max - including crew, mission specialists, their families and children. The primary mission of the USS WILDTHING is research and diplomacy, but when a show of strength is unavoidable the ship is capable of enormous defensive power.
Captain zAphod and his first officers, Commander Nik and Commander Two command the vessel, which continues the mission set out by earlier BUCKET class spaceships:
